CAST​

WHEN: Friday, September 27 to Sunday, September 29
      5:30-9 PM Friday,  10 AM-6 PM Saturday + Sunday

WHERE: JHE H324 (3rd floor Hatch)

WHO: Anyone! No experience required. 

HOW: ​​

• 1 monologue and 1 song of contrasting tones

• Song can be performed a cappella or with an instrumental backtrack (no lyrics)

• Should total no more than 8 minutes to leave time for questions (15 minute time slot)

BAND

WHEN: Friday, September 27th to Sunday, September 29th
      5-9 PM Friday,  11 AM-4 PM Saturday and Sunday

      Saturday will be rhythm section only

WHERE: JHE H204 (2nd floor Hatch)

WHO: Wind / brass instruments, strings, rhythm (guitar, drums, piano, etc.)
      Rhythm section auditions are Saturday

 

Concert Band Audition (Friday and Sunday)​

If you do not have your own instrument and require one for the audition, please indicate in the signup form and we will reimburse you for the rental.

• Two pieces or excerpts of your choice of contrasting genre

  • Examples include:

    • Jazz and Classical

    • Baroque and Romantic, etc.

  • Does NOT need to be memorized

  • Pieces together must be no more than 5 minutes in length in total 

  • Please upload your sheet music to the Google Form with your application (there will be a section to upload

• Two to three major scales of varying tempos and articulations of auditioners' choice

  • Scales can be up to 4 sharps or 4 flats (in concert pitch) 

  • No sheet music provided​

• One piece of music to sightread

  • You will be given time to briefly read music before performing

Rhythm Section Audition (Saturday only)

The piano and guitar audition will consist of the following:

• One piece or excerpt of your choice

  • Does NOT need to be memorized

  • The piece/excerpt must not exceed 3 minutes in length 

  • Please upload your sheet music to the Google Form with your application (there will be a section to upload)

• Comping 

  • You will be asked to comp over a jazz standard, with a lead sheet provided

• Sight Reading

  • One piece of music to sightread

    • You will be given time to briefly read music before performing

The drums audition will consist of the following:

• Two jazz pieces or excerpts of your choice, however, they must be of different grooves (i.e. swing/bossa nova)

  • Does NOT need to be memorized

  • Pieces/exerpts together must be no more than 5 minutes in length in total 

  • Please upload your sheet music to the Google Form with your application (there will be a section to upload

• Comping 

  • You will be asked to comp over a rock/funk song

• Sight Reading

  • One piece of music to sight-read

    • You will be given time to briefly read music before performing
